‘Woven Tapestry Fragment,” The MET

About Noor

Founded by two Armenian-American teens from New York, Noor aims to bridge the gap between artists and publication, providing both up-and-coming and well-established creative minds with a platform that recognizes and appreciates their work.

Noor—by its very definition—is light. This is reflected in the articulate creative vision of its editors. Above all, we value spreading light through artistry—regardless of who you are.

If you have a story to tell, we want you to tell it.

Noor’s Goals for 2024

In our first year as an organization, we aim to produce three publications: Summer (August), Fall (October), and Winter (January), as well as collect writing and art for a subsequent Spring (April) issue—rounding out a year of quarterly publications.

Additionally, we plan to host several contests and events in NYC to raise funds for physical publications and showcase diverse talent.

Most importantly, we want to establish a community where artists and writers from all walks of life can receive the recognition and platform they deserve.

Noor is a not-for-profit organization, and all proceeds go directly to funding future publications and featuring more artists and writers. We do not aim to use this platform to sell any merchandise or services other than physical publications of our magazine.

Our page features art from a variety of artists, including those outside of Noor, sourced from collections such as the MET's Open Access gallery and the National Gallery of Art. All works of art are appropriately credited to the original artists. We do not aim to plagiarize anyone else's work or claim it as our own—outside art is purely for aesthetics and will be replaced with future submissions.
