To me, this is about the uncertainty of being young in Australia. The sprawling landscapes are empty, everything is happening elsewhere. The clothing is a jarring juxtaposition to the landscape, but also is very Naarm (Melbourne), showing they are united in their navigation of the big, wide world.

About the Artist

My name is April Schroeter, I’m 21 and I’m from Australia. In my spare time, you can find me reading my loved one's tarot cards and watching niche films about female revenge. I write poetry, inspired by the bitter words of Didion and Moshfegh. I love to shoot film, but I moved to digital a year and a half ago. I claim it’s a creative thing, but my bank account would say otherwise.
